CNC Machining Capabilities & Solutions
First Mold offers a fairly wide range of CNC machining processes. The services we provide to customers generally fall into three categories.
Our CNC services primarily focus on CNC milling service and EDM machining. We also support these processes with CNC turning, CNC grinding, CNC boring, and other techniques. We can meet a wide range of complex customer requirements.
We offer options such as standard CNC machining and precision CNC machining. You do not necessarily need to pursue five-axis CNC machining. Instead, you should make the most suitable choice based on your specific processing needs and budget.
Our project managers will provide you with the most reasonable recommendation for each individual project.
Inndustries Served & Case Studies
As a leading CNC machining company, we deliver proven manufacturing solutions helping automotive, medical device, aerospace, and electronics manufacturers overcome production challenges. Our CNC machining services enable 30% cost reduction and 50% faster time-to-market through technical innovation.
Automotive Parts Machining
First Mold provides precision CNC machining that complies with the IATF 16949 standard. We regularly manufacture components such as transmission housings and custom drive shafts. For high-stress powertrain parts, we can consistently achieve concentricity as low as ±0.01 mm. We also maintain strict control over positional tolerances.
Consumer Electronic Parts Machining
We specialize in machining custom household appliance housings, micro heat sinks, and complex snap-fit structural parts that require no screws. We have extensive experience with optimized toolpaths and surface finishing techniques. We can achieve a surface roughness better than Ra 0.4 μm.
Industry tools components Machining
We are skilled at machining various types of precision micro gears and high-hardness mold inserts. Even when working with hardened tool steel exceeding HRC 60 or special wear-resistant alloys, we can still maintain a strict dimensional accuracy of ±0.005 mm.
Our CNC Machining Cases
Our CNC Machining Material Library
Based on a database of 10,000+ manufacturing cases, we have developed a three-dimensional decision model for material selection (mechanical performance, machining feasibility, lifecycle cost). We provide technical-grade material selection support for all industries.

Premium Surface Finishes for Rapid Prototyping
Every component receives mandatory cleaning and deburring services to eliminate contaminants (oil, coolant residues) and achieve high-grade surface finishes (Ra≤3.2μm).
Sandblasting
The surface of the CNC workpiece changes from raw metal color or tool marks to a uniform, non-reflective matte gray. It feels smoother to the touch.
Anodizing
A dense oxide film forms on the surface of the metal CNC part. The color can be customized. Hardness and corrosion resistance improve significantly.
Powder coating
The CNC part receives a thick, textured or glossy plastic-like layer. It feels warm to the touch and the colors appear vivid.
Electroplating
The surface of the CNC machined part becomes a metallic coating, such as bright nickel or chrome. It shows a highly reflective metallic luster and resists corrosion better.
High-gloss polishin
The final part surface reflects light like a mirror. All machining marks disappear completely.
EMI shielding coating
The workpiece surface receives a thin, electrically conductive layer. It provides electromagnetic shielding function. Its appearance looks similar to spray painting.

FAQ for Custom CNC Machining Services
I am a beginner, what is CNC machining?
CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing technology that uses computer programming to control machine tools for automated processing.
We highly recommend reading our “What is CNC Machining” article. It will give you a comprehensive understanding of CNC machining types, workflows, applications, and how it compares to other processes.
Do I need to provide 2D drawings along with my 3D CAD models for custom CNC machining services?
How quickly can I get a quote for fast CNC machining?
Can I update my design after receiving a CNC machining service quote?
Will your free DFM analysis reduce my CNC manufacturing costs?
Is there a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of CNC parts?
Do you offer volume discounts for small volume CNC machining services and production runs?
What is the maximum part size your custom CNC machining centers can accommodate?
For 3-axis and 4-axis machining, our maximum capacity is 1200 × 800 × 600 mm.
For 5-axis CNC machining, the envelope is 800 × 600 × 500 mm. Larger dimensions for machining services can be supported through our outsourced partners.
Can your CNC precision machining services handle micro-features below 0.5mm?
What Happens If My Requested Material Grade Is Temporarily Unavailable?
What Surface Roughness (Ra) Is Standard For CNC Machined Parts?
We will recommend alternative materials with similar performance characteristics (for example, using Aluminum 6061 instead of 7075). Alternatively, we can place an advance order for the specific grade, which may correspondingly extend the lead time for your CNC machining orders.
