Our custom CNC machining services are aimed at delivery bespoke solutions tailored to the needs of specific project requirements. Our custom CNC capabilities are achieved through CNC Rapid Prototyping, 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining, CNC turning, and precision machining all relevant across the automotive, medical, aerospace and consumer electronics industries. We can work with various grades of engineering thermoplastic, aluminum, stainless steel, bronze, titanium and many more to infuse the right functionality and properties into your parts. We can machine parts up to 80” by 48” by 24” on all 3,4 and 5-axis CNC milling solutions. Our 3-axis machining is particularly streamlined to help our clients with relatively simple machining needs get the high precision and accuracy required at affordable rates. Our 4 and 5-axis solutions are available for custom machining of projects with complex geometric and design requirements, and can achieve tolerances of up to 0.005” when required.

CNC Machining & Processing

Firstmold CNC machining provides the highest assurance of quality on your parts. We believe in creating beautiful, functional parts that will have significant impact in applications, which is why our host of machining specialists and design engineers are always on board to support your project from start to finish. Our CNC machining milling and turning can meet tolerances of +0.005” for metals and +0.010” for plastic and composites, however, we can provide tighter tolerances as required*. Our specialized CNC milling machines can make parts that span up to 80” x 48” x 24” while our Lathes can turn parts up to 60” in length and 32” in diameter. We can accommodate standard thread sizes and tapped holes, however, machining custom threads will impact price and leadtimes. With our efficient post-processing and finishing unit under the same roof, we provide all our clients with the streamlined solution of making the perfect part from start to finish.

Bead Blasting

Bead blasting delivers a satin surface finish or uniform matte finish on parts, removing all tool marks. Bead blasting can also impart textures on your part, and prepare the surface for further finish.

Powder coating

Powder coating delivers strong fatigue and wear resistance, and is compatible with virtually every metal material. It can be used as an alternative to anodizing finishes.


Anodizing is used to increase corrosion-resistance, scratch-resistance and durability in mechanical parts. It is versatile and can be applied directly to a part, or used after bead blasting, brushing or bright dipping to achieve matte or glossy finishes as required. Firstmold offers Chemical film, type I, type II and type III anodizing sheet metal parts. Anodizing is also an ideal surface treatment for painting and priming.


Brushing is an aesthetic surface finish used to draw traces and give a brushed feel on the surface of the material, usually metals. It is used on ABS, Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Brass

1. What is CNC Machining?

CNC machining refers to computerized numerical controlled machining. It is a subtractive manufacturing process that can be achieved by milling or turning operations.

2. How does it work?

CNC machining works by removing unneeded elements of a workpiece and shaping the same workpiece to meet an intended design. The process starts with the design file (CAD) loaded unto the machine. The machine then uses a cutting tool or lathe to shape the solid piece of material (workpiece) by removing parts till the final design is achieved.

3.What materials can you use with CNC Machining?

CNC machining can machine just about any materials; however, the most common materials include plastic, brass, copper, steel, stainless steel and aluminum.

4.Why should I CNC machining?

CNC machining is capable of making parts with high precision and accuracy. It can also deliver parts with complex geometries that will otherwise be difficult to make through other means. It is fast, and can be used for low-volume manufacturing without incurring heavy tooling cost.

5.How quickly can you produce parts using injection molding?

Our standard leadtimes for CNC machining operations is 1-7 days. This leadtime is dependent on the geometric complexity of the design, size, volume and tolerance levels required.
