Het ontwerp en de afwerking van het materiaal dragen bij aan de algehele schoonheid van het interieur. Het dient echter vooral de functionele rol van het bieden van comfort en het verbeteren van het gebruiksgemak. Zo is er meestal een geheime opbergruimte voor persoonlijke spullen zoals telefoons, portemonnees en sleutels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De armsteun in de middenconsole biedt een rustplaats voor de binnenarmen van de bestuurder en voorpassagier. Dit vermindert het risico op spierstijfheid en vermoeidheid, vooral tijdens lange ritten. In sommige gevallen kunnen de scharnieren zowel verticaal als naar voren en naar achteren worden versteld voor persoonlijk comfort.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ge\u00efntegreerde elektronica<\/td><td>De moderne armsteun van de middenconsole is een hub geworden voor verschillende elektronica. Wat het uiterlijk betreft, wilde de klant een onderdeel voor de armsteun van de middenconsole dat vrij was van gebreken die vaak voorkomen op gebogen oppervlakken, zoals verzakkingen, lasnaden en vloeilijnen. Als premium autofabrikant kan de kleinste spuitgietfout in de middenconsolearmsteun de aantrekkingskracht van de cabine be\u00efnvloeden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wat functionaliteit betreft, werd er een goede structurele stabiliteit verwacht en snap-fit afmetingen voor eenvoudige montage. Andere eigenschappen waar de klant zich zorgen over maakte waren loodrechtheid van de montagestijlen, pasafstand, en \u00b10,1 mm onderdeeltolerantie en \u00b10,05 mm matrijstolerantie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aangezien de armsteun de druk van de arm moet kunnen weerstaan en meerdere keren open en dicht moet kunnen gaan, maakte de fabrikant zich ook zorgen over de duurzaamheid. Als de armsteun het te vroeg begeeft, kan dat een slecht imago geven aan de autofabrikant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-challenges-and-solutions\">Uitdagingen en oplossingen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Elk van de eisen die de fabrikant stelde, ging gepaard met een unieke uitdaging. De blauwdruk van de fabrikant bevatte verschillende materiaal- en maatspecificaties die moeilijker te realiseren waren met een gewone giettechniek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-achieving-a-flawless-appearance-on-thin-center-console-armrest-housing\">Een onberispelijk uiterlijk bereiken op dunne armsteunbehuizing middenconsole<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>De eerste van de reeks uitdagingen die First Mold moest overwinnen, was het maken van een stabiel dunwandig onderdeel. Lichtgewicht is uiterst belangrijk voor een zuinige auto. Een van de manieren om dat te bereiken is door ontwerpaanpassingen die een lager materiaalgebruik bevorderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dunne wanden worden versterkt met ribben voor stabiliteit. De ribben introduceren echter vaak zwakke punten in de structuur als het materiaal of het proces ontoereikend is. Dit kan leiden tot problemen zoals breuk van de snap-fit of kromtrekken van de schaal (waardoor de armleuning niet meer open of dicht gaat of losraakt). Elk van deze problemen verkort de levenscyclus van het product, die voor de meeste auto-onderdelen meestal \u22655 jaar is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De autofabrikant wilde niet alleen een uiterlijk dat vrij was van de gebruikelijke fabricagefouten bij de behuizing van de middenconsolearmsteun, maar wilde ook dat de middenconsolearmsteun een gestileerde textuurgravure zou hebben. Om dit te bereiken moest de gravure in de mal worden gesneden, wat een gedetailleerde CNC-bewerking vereiste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-durability-concerns-with-snap-fit-design\">Duurzaamheidsproblemen met Snap-Fit ontwerp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Om ervoor te zorgen dat het spuitgieten van de behuizing van de middenconsolearmsteun duurzaam is, moest First Mold de uitdagingen met de snap-fit modules overwinnen, die duizenden open- en sluitcycli moeten overleven. Bij snap-fit ontwerpen is er meestal sprake van spanningsconcentratie rond de basis, waardoor fillets of radii moeten worden toegevoegd. Andere uitdagingen die First Mold moest overwinnen, waren onder andere:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Falen door vermoeidheid:<\/em><\/strong> Dit falen is het gevolg van het herhaaldelijk monteren en demonteren van snap-fits. Een manier om dit te voorkomen is het gebruik van spannings- aantal cycli curven, ook wel S-N curven genoemd, bij de materiaalselectie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Griezel:<\/em><\/strong> Na verloop van tijd vervormt kunststof natuurlijk onder aanhoudende belasting, waardoor de sluiting verzwakt. Daarom is het essentieel om kruipvaste materialen te gebruiken zoals polybutyleentereftalaat, een sterke, semikristallijne technische kunststof, of andere versterkte kunststoffen voor de productie van snap-fits. Voor dit project voor de behuizing van de middenconsolearmsteun koos First Mold voor een mengsel van acrylonitril-butadieen-styreen (ABS), dat zeer sterk, stijf en hittebestendig is, en polycarbonaat (PC). Het hybride materiaal biedt een superieure balans tussen duurzaamheid, taaiheid en thermische prestaties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-assembly-compatibility-challenges-of-center-console-armrest-parts\">Compatibiliteitsuitdagingen van onderdelen voor armsteun middenconsole<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Het montagegemak van een snap-fit ontwerp hangt af van de relatie tussen de samenkomende onderdelen. Ontwerpelementen zoals snap-fit afmetingen, passingafstand, haaksheid van montagestijlen en toleranties bepalen hoe goed de onderdelen zullen functioneren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Snap-fit afmetingen:<\/em><\/strong> De twee samenkomende delen moeten precieze afmetingen hebben en gemaakt zijn van flexibele materialen. Hierdoor kunnen de twee helften tijdens de assemblage tijdelijk vervormen en hun oorspronkelijke vorm terugkrijgen om een hechte verbinding te cre\u00ebren. De juiste afmetingen zorgen voor voldoende sterkte.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Pasafstand:<\/em><\/strong> Dit is de ruimte tussen de samenkomende delen. Bij een passing door vrijloop is er een aanzienlijke ruimte tussen de twee onderdelen, wat de assemblage vergemakkelijkt. Aan de andere kant wordt een interferentie- of perspassing gebruikt om een sterkere, semi-permanente verbinding te maken. Bij een perspassing zijn de onderdelen groter dan de gaten waarin ze passen en is er enige kracht nodig om ze te monteren.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Loodrechtheid van montagepalen:<\/em><\/strong> Om ervoor te zorgen dat de onderdelen goed op elkaar aansluiten, moeten de montagepunten precies een hoek van 90 graden maken ten opzichte van het basisoppervlak. Zo liggen ze vlak op het oppervlak en wordt voorkomen dat ze onder spanning komen te staan of verkeerd worden uitgelijnd.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Tolerantie:<\/em><\/strong> Dit is de toegestane variatie in de afmetingen van het onderdeel. Geen enkel fabricageproces is perfect. Daarom zullen onderdelen meestal kleine (meestal verwaarloosbare) verschillen vertonen. Tolerantie bepaalt de grens voor de aanvaardbare variaties die onderdelen kunnen hebben. Als onderdelen binnen de geaccepteerde toleranties vallen, wordt verwacht dat ze goed in elkaar zitten en correct functioneren. Voor dit project voor de productie van onderdelen voor de middenconsolearmsteun had de klant de limiet voor onderdelen op \u00b10,1 mm gesteld en de limiet voor matrijzen op \u00b10,05 mm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-clients-benefited-from-working-with-first-mold-s-solution\">Wat klanten hebben geprofiteerd van First Mold's oplossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanwege het complexe ontwerp van de behuizing van de middenconsolearmsteun gebruikte First Mold de simulatiesoftware Moldflow om de vulling\/krimp van het product van tevoren te voorspellen. Moldflow simuleert hoe het gesmolten polymeer in de vormholte stroomt en deze vult. Deze simulatie helpt bij het identificeren van luchtvallen, korte shots, ongelijkmatige vulling en laslijnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het resultaat stelde First Mold in staat om de slider\/lifter-structuren van het spuitgietgereedschap voor de behuizing van de middenconsolearmsteun te optimaliseren. Om bijvoorbeeld te voorkomen dat de matrijs gaat knipperen, wat leidt tot meer materiaalverspilling en meer tijdrovende nabewerking, zorgde First Mold ervoor dat de speling tussen de schuivers en lifters \u22640,02 mm bedraagt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Met behulp van virtuele simulatie kon First Mold de proefpogingen tot gieten beperken tot 2-3 keer. Herhaalde pogingen zijn tijdrovend en duur. Met de juiste planning en het gebruik van de nieuwste virtuele technologie\u00ebn kon First Mold de klant een betere waarde bieden in termen van een snellere product-to-market-tijd en geld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-implementing-a-20-production-capacity-buffer\">Een 20% productiecapaciteitsbuffer implementeren<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Om de klant te helpen aan de spuitgietcapaciteit voor de middenconsolearmsteun te voldoen, zette First Mold meerdere spuitgietmachines van hetzelfde model in. Als buffer werd minimaal 20% productiecapaciteit gereserveerd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Met andere woorden, als alle matrijzen voor de productie van onderdelen voor de middenconsolearmsteun op een capaciteit van 80% werken, voldoen ze aan de huidige vraag van de klant. Als alle matrijzen werken op een capaciteit van 100%, zal het aantal onderdelen dat gemaakt wordt 20% meer zijn dan de vraag. Dit overschot van 20% cre\u00ebert een buffer voor tekorten die het gevolg kunnen zijn van onderhoud, plotselinge pieken in de vraag en onverwachte onderbrekingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De extra productiecapaciteit van 20% kan ook van pas komen voor het testen van nieuwe materialen zonder de productielijnen negatief te be\u00efnvloeden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-production-part-approval-process-documentation\">Documentatie goedkeuringsproces productieonderdelen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First Mold werkt volgens het IATF 16949-certificeringssysteem en levert PPAP-documentatie.
