In generale, le materie plastiche sono solide o elastomeri a temperatura ambiente. Per lavorarle e stamparle, di solito devono essere riscaldate fino a raggiungere uno stato viscoso e scorrevole e quindi lavorate nella forma desiderata. Questo processo crea alcune differenze tra i due tipi. Oggi discuteremo in dettaglio le differenze tra termoplastici e termoindurenti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-basics-of-thermoplastics-and-thermosetting-plastics\">Nozioni di base sui materiali termoplastici e termoindurenti<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-thermoplastics\">Termoplastica<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I termoplastici sono una classe di materie plastiche che possono essere stampate a una certa temperatura, solidificarsi al raffreddamento e ripetere questo processo pi\u00f9 volte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sono ampiamente utilizzate e sono costituite principalmente da resine termoplastiche miscelate con vari additivi. A determinate temperature, queste plastiche possono ammorbidirsi o fondersi in qualsiasi forma e mantenerla al momento del raffreddamento. Questo stato pu\u00f2 essere raggiunto ripetutamente e questo processo comporta solo cambiamenti fisici. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esempi di termoplastici sono il nylon (Nylon), il polietilene (PE), il polipropilene (PP), il cloruro di polivinile (PVC), l'acrilonitrile-butadiene-stirene (ABS), il polistirene (PS), il poliossimetilene (POM), il policarbonato (PC), il poliuretano (PU) e il politetrafluoroetilene (Teflon, PTFE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-thermosetting-plastics\">Plastica termoindurente<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le plastiche termoindurenti si ammorbidiscono e scorrono al primo riscaldamento. Quando vengono riscaldate a una certa temperatura, subiscono una reazione chimica nota come reticolazione, che le fa indurire in modo irreversibile. Una volta indurite, non possono essere ammorbidite con il riscaldamento. Questa caratteristica viene sfruttata nei processi di stampaggio: durante il primo riscaldamento, la plastica scorre e riempie la cavit\u00e0 dello stampo sotto pressione, quindi si indurisce fino a raggiungere una forma e una dimensione fissa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le plastiche termoindurenti si induriscono attraverso una reazione chimica in seguito al riscaldamento, all'aggiunta di pressione o all'introduzione di un indurente, che ne modifica la struttura chimica, rendendole dure e insolubili nei solventi, e non si ammorbidiscono con il riscaldamento. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esempi di plastiche termoindurenti sono le plastiche fenoliche, ureiche, melamminiche a formaldeide, epossidiche, poliestere insaturo e siliconiche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le loro applicazioni comuni comprendono:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plastica fenolica (utilizzata per i manici delle pentole)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Melamina formaldeide (utilizzata per i laminati plastici)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resine epossidiche (utilizzate per gli adesivi)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Poliesteri insaturi (usati per gli scafi delle barche)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Esteri di vinile (usati per le carrozzerie)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Poliuretano (usato per suole e schiume di scarpe)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-differences-between-thermoplastics-and-thermosetting-plastics\">Differenze tra materiali termoplastici e termoindurenti<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-molecular-structure\">1. Struttura molecolare<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La differenza pi\u00f9 evidente tra termoplastici e termoindurenti \u00e8 che i termoplastici possono essere riscaldati e ammorbiditi dopo l'indurimento. Al contrario, le plastiche termoindurenti non possono essere ammorbidite con il riscaldamento una volta stampate; si decompongono ad alte temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Termoplastici:<\/strong> La struttura molecolare \u00e8 lineare e tipicamente priva di gruppi reattivi. Non subiscono reticolazione al riscaldamento, consentendo alle catene molecolari di scorrere liberamente, quindi si sciolgono al riscaldamento e si dissolvono in alcuni solventi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plastiche termoindurenti:<\/strong> Prima dello stampaggio, hanno una struttura a catena simile a quella dei materiali termoplastici. Durante lo stampaggio, subiscono una polimerizzazione termica o chimica per formare una struttura reticolata. Una volta completata questa reazione, le molecole del polimero formano una rete tridimensionale che impedisce alle catene molecolari di scivolare, dando vita a un solido insolubile e non fusibile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-melting-point\">2. Punto di fusione<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le plastiche termoindurenti hanno un punto di fusione superiore alla loro temperatura di degradazione. Si degradano prima della fusione al momento del riscaldamento dopo l'indurimento, rendendole non riciclabili. Le materie termoplastiche, invece, hanno un punto di fusione pi\u00f9 basso ed esiste un intervallo tra il loro punto di fusione e la temperatura di decomposizione termica in cui possono essere lavorate in varie forme, come lo stampaggio a iniezione, il soffiaggio, l'estrusione e il soffiaggio di film. Pu\u00f2 essere rifuso pi\u00f9 volte, consentendo in genere fino a sette cicli di riciclo prima che le prestazioni si degradino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-corrosion-resistance\">3. Resistenza alla corrosione<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrambi i tipi di polimeri resistono alla ruggine o alla corrosione e sono adatti per applicazioni all'aperto e al contatto con sostanze corrosive. Tuttavia, i materiali termoplastici sono pi\u00f9 resistenti alla corrosione chimica rispetto ai materiali termoindurenti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-durability\">4. La durata<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nella produzione di tecnopolimeri per automobili o elettrodomestici, la resistenza al calore e la durata sono fondamentali. In genere, i materiali termoindurenti sono pi\u00f9 durevoli delle loro controparti. Questi polimeri sono di solito pi\u00f9 leggeri e hanno un'eccellente forza, tenacit\u00e0 e resistenza agli urti. Possono essere ulteriormente rinforzati con materiali come la fibra di vetro e la fibra di carbonio. Pertanto, i vantaggi strutturali e la stabilit\u00e0 dimensionale delle plastiche termoindurenti le rendono pi\u00f9 adatte alla durata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-processing-techniques\">5. Tecniche di lavorazione<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Plastiche termoindurenti:<\/strong> Lavorati in forma liquida con metodi come lo stampaggio a trasferimento di resina (RTM) e lo stampaggio a iniezione per reazione (RIM). Il processo di polimerizzazione include inibitori, indurenti, plastificanti o riempitivi. La scelta del rinforzo dipende dal risultato desiderato.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Termoplastici:<\/strong> Possono essere lavorati con vari metodi, tra cui lo stampaggio a iniezione, l'estrusione, la formatura sotto vuoto e la termoformatura. I materiali termoplastici sono eccellenti isolanti termici e consentono tempi di raffreddamento pi\u00f9 lunghi rispetto ad altre materie plastiche.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
